PhD Wallpapering is a specialty wallcovering installation business based in California.

Savanna has owned and operated PhD Wallpapering for over 35 years, launching in the San Francisco Bay Area and then landing long-term in the Sierra Foothills. Her early experience installing for designers and specialty manufacturers in the Bay Area defined her skill set and launched a career. Savanna trained at West Valley Occupational Center's, Career Technical Education Course for Wallpaper Installation. The program was a 4 month intensive and experiential training led by a highly regarded master installer, Bill Spires. Bill was a third generation wallpaper hanger and his lineage traces back to the East Coast.

For the past 6 years, Savanna and her husband Wayne have operated as a team, taking on larger projects and more specialty work. In the beginning of 2019, their daughter Whitney started her official apprenticeship and is happy to be living back in the Sierra Foothills, carrying on the trade and the family business. Wayne continues to support in more ways than one can count.

PhD Wallpapering is a longtime member of the Wallcovering Installers Association (WIA) - Northern California Chapter. The WIA is the international professional trade organization for wallcovering installers and is the top resource for continued training and certification.

PhD has extensive experience with all wallcoverings including, but not limited to: fabric, suede, velvet, grasscloth, vinyl, woven, non-woven, hand-trimmed, handmade and double-cut. High resolution digital murals are a speciality. Available for residential projects, light commercial work and for designer led projects.
